Knightdale, Wendell & Zebulon NC Dispensaries (2026)

This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, medical, or product advice. Consult a qualified professional for guidance specific to your situation.

Carolina Demography ranks Wendell first and Zebulon second for growth from 2024 to 2025. Wendell went from 9,841 residents in 2020 to 19,687 in July 2025, a little more than double. Zebulon grew 73% over the same five years, and Knightdale added more than 3,600 people (U.S. Census Bureau, Vintage 2025).

Hemp retail has not kept up. Our directory now lists two dedicated hemp shops in Knightdale, three in Wendell, and one in Youngsville just over the Franklin County line, and Zebulon's one listed shop appears to have closed. We checked every shop against live Google Maps on October 12, 2026, and phoned the two whose details did not match.

Key Takeaways

The surest bets in eastern Wake are Apotheca in Wendell, open 8am to 10pm every day on Wendell Boulevard, and Haven Herb in Knightdale on Buffaloe Road, which also offers free local delivery on orders over $75. The Hemp Source in Wendell now keeps Wednesday to Friday hours only, at a new number, (919) 862-3193. Carolina Hemp Company's Zebulon store appears to have closed: it no longer shows on Google Maps, and its listed phone number now reaches a different business. Herbal Solutions in Youngsville covers the northern edge. These shops sell hemp-derived products, which are legal in North Carolina today. No medical card is needed. North Carolina sets no minimum age for hemp, but many shops card at 21 as store policy, so bring ID.

Wendell Doubled in Five Years. Its Hemp Shops Did Not.

The numbers here come straight from the Census Bureau's 2025 town estimates, released this spring. UNC's Carolina Demography put the headline plainly: "From the 2020 Decennial Census to July 1st 2025, Wendell doubled their population from 9,841 residents to 19,687 residents!" (Carolina Demography). By the Census Bureau's figures, Wendell added 17.3% in the last year alone and Zebulon added 13.9%.

These towns sit along US 64 east of Raleigh, and the hemp shops in them have not multiplied the way the rooftops have. For many residents, the nearest place with real choice is still back toward Raleigh.

Population Growth in Eastern Wake Towns Residents in April 2020 and July 2025 April 2020 July 2025 19,520 23,144 9,841 19,687 6,915 11,933 Knightdale Wendell Zebulon +18.6% +100.1% +72.6%

For shoppers, the practical meaning is simple. In most of these towns you have one or two real options, so it pays to know exactly what each one carries and when it is open before you leave the house.

Residents Per Hemp Dispensary: How Eastern Wake Compares

Our guides to southern Wake County and Johnston County use one number to compare towns: residents divided by the dedicated hemp shops in our directory. A lower number means more choice per person. It is the most useful single figure for deciding whether a trip is worth taking, because it tells you whether you will have a choice when you arrive. It is not a measure of demand, and it counts only dedicated hemp storefronts, not the smoke shops and convenience stores that carry a few hemp products on the side.

Knightdale comes out at 11,572 residents for each of its two listed shops, just ahead of Wake Forest and well ahead of Raleigh's one shop per 14,064 residents. Those figures use the same method as our other Triangle town guides, so they compare directly. Wendell, with three listed shops for 19,687 people, comes out at one per 6,562, the densest of any Wake County town we have charted. Zebulon now has no listed shop at all.

Wendell Has More Shops Per Person Than Raleigh Residents per hemp dispensary. Longer bar means fewer shops per person. Gold marks the towns in this guide. Garner Raleigh Wake Forest Knightdale Wendell 20,781 (2 shops) 14,064 (36 shops) 11,629 (5 shops) 11,572 (2 shops) 6,562 (3 shops)

Those counts include two shops we added to our directory while checking this guide, Elevate NC THCA in Knightdale and The Lifted Lounge in Wendell, and leave out Carolina Hemp Company in Zebulon, which we removed as closed. Without the two new shops, Knightdale would sit at 23,144 residents per shop, thinner than Garner. Both new shops are covered below.

Knightdale Dispensaries: Haven Herb on Buffaloe Road

Haven Herb sits at 8521 Buffaloe Rd in northern Knightdale. Its Google profile matches our listing on address, phone ((919) 618-3048) and hours: 10am to 6pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 10am to 9pm Friday, and 10am to 10pm Saturday. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, so check the day before you go. It holds a 5.0 rating on 38 Google reviews.

The shop's own site lists THCa flower, pre-rolls, edibles, topicals, tinctures and solventless rosin, and it offers free local delivery on orders over $75 plus in-store pickup. If you live in Knightdale and do not want to drive, that delivery option is the most useful thing in this guide. If you are looking for a CBD store in Knightdale, Haven Herb carries CBD tinctures and topicals alongside its THCa products. Our hemp delivery guide explains how delivery works in North Carolina.

Also in Knightdale: Elevate NC THCA at 4021 Village Park Dr has a 5.0 rating on 141 Google reviews and is open 10am to 9pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 6pm Sunday. Its site lists THCa flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles and concentrates. For a Knightdale shopper on a Monday or Tuesday, when Haven Herb is closed, it is the nearby option.

Wendell Dispensaries: Apotheca and Downtown Main Street

Wendell has the most choice in this guide, and the most reliable hours.

Apotheca Cannabis Dispensary at 3430 Wendell Blvd is open 8am to 10pm every day, the longest hours of any shop in this guide. Google lists it at 4.9 stars on 94 reviews. Apotheca runs several Triangle locations, and its stores page lists THCa flower, THCa concentrates, delta-8 gummies, CBD flower and pet CBD across the chain. Call ahead if you want a specific product, since stock varies by store.

Downtown, things are less settled. The Hemp Source has called Wendell home since 2018, and its website still lists 33 N. Main St. as its headquarters with the number (919) 374-1444. But its Google profile, checked October 12, 2026, shows no public address, a different phone number, (919) 862-3193, and hours of only 11am to 5pm Wednesday through Friday. When we called that number the same day, The Hemp Source answered; the older number on its website now reaches a different business. We have updated our listing to the Wednesday to Friday hours and the new number. Call ahead to confirm what is in stock. The Hemp Source's site describes full-spectrum and isolate CBD extracts; we could not confirm from its own site that it currently stocks THCa flower.

Also downtown: The Lifted Lounge at 14 N Main St, on the same stretch of Main Street, has a 5.0 rating on 42 Google reviews. It is open 10am to 8pm Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am to 9pm Thursday through Saturday, and 1pm to 6pm Sunday, and closed Monday. It lists THCa flower, concentrates, edibles, vapes and THC beverages.

Zebulon Dispensary: The Listed Shop Appears Closed

Our directory listed Carolina Hemp Company at 120 E Gannon Ave. The shop's website still shows the store as open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 6pm at (919) 646-0009. But on October 12, 2026, the store did not appear on Google Maps at all, even when we searched its exact name from Zebulon, and when we called (919) 646-0009 the same day, it reached a different business.

Taken together, the store appears to have closed, and we have removed it from our directory. Do not make the drive without confirming another way. The nearest dedicated options are the Wendell shops on this list, the next town west on US 64. Zebulon also has smoke and vape shops that carry some hemp products, but they are not dedicated hemp retailers and are not listed here.

Youngsville Dispensary: Herbal Solutions on Main Street

Just over the line in Franklin County, Herbal Solutions at 119 E Main St sits north of eastern Wake and is the closest option for Rolesville and north Wake Forest shoppers. Its Google profile and website agree: noon to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 7pm Friday, noon to 4pm Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday, (919) 554-6114. It has a 4.9 rating on 98 Google reviews.

The shop's site lists hemp flower, oils, vape oils, concentrates, edibles and topicals, and says it opened in January 2020. Youngsville itself is small, with 2,461 residents in July 2025. If you are in Wake Forest, our Wake Forest guide covers the shops there.

Every Option Side by Side

Here is how the shops compare on the things that decide a trip. Hours and ratings are from Google profiles checked October 12, 2026, and products come from each shop's own website. Elevate NC THCA and The Lifted Lounge are new to our directory as of this guide. Click any shop name for its full listing, with phone number, current hours and a map. Treat ratings as a rough guide, since a shop with a few dozen reviews can swing on a handful of them.

Shop Status Town Hours Google rating THCa flower
Apotheca Open Wendell 8am to 10pm daily 4.9 (94) Yes
Haven Herb Open, delivers Knightdale 10am to 6pm Wed, Thu, Sun; 10am to 9pm Fri; 10am to 10pm Sat 5.0 (38) Yes

Carolina Hemp Company Appears closed, removed Zebulon Not on Google Maps; phone reaches another business No current profile Listed on its site

If you just want the safest bet, Apotheca in Wendell is open the longest and every day. If you are in Knightdale, Haven Herb's delivery saves the trip entirely. For more on judging any shop before you buy, see what to look for in an NC dispensary.

What NC Law Says, and What the Federal Deadline Changes

These shops sell hemp-derived products, which are legal in North Carolina today. Session Law 2022-32 defines hemp as cannabis "with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis" (NC General Assembly). Because that test looks only at delta-9, THCa flower passes it. No card, prescription or diagnosis is involved, and North Carolina has no state-licensed marijuana dispensaries anywhere, including here.

Update, October 10, 2026: The federal hemp deadline referenced below has shifted. H.R. 6500 became Public Law 119-103 on September 2, 2026, and its Section 2019 delays most of the new hemp definition, including the 0.4mg per container THC cap and the total-THC test that counts THCa, to December 11, 2026. A narrow piece covering cannabinoids the plant cannot naturally produce still begins November 12, 2026. Still current as of this update. Track it in our NC hemp bill tracker.

Today After the federal change
What counts toward the limit Delta-9 THC only Total THC, including THCa
THCa flower Legal in NC Would fail the total-THC test
Finished products No per-container THC cap 0.4mg combined total per container
Effective date Current law December 11, 2026 for most products

At the state level, House Bill 328 would move North Carolina to a similar total-THC standard and set an age-21 minimum in statute. It passed the Senate on July 2, 2026, and the House has not voted (NC General Assembly). Nothing on an eastern Wake shelf has changed because of it.

North Carolina status, October 10, 2026: HB 328, the state hemp crackdown, passed the Senate in July but still awaits a House vote, which can come in the reconvened sessions between October 26 and December 18. Today North Carolina sets no minimum age for hemp products, though many shops card at 21. Details in our NC hemp bill tracker.

In a market this thin, the federal date matters. Most of the open shops in this guide treat THCa flower as a core category, and a town with one or two shops has little slack if a product line disappears. Buy what you actually use, keep the batch number or lab report for anything you buy, and check our bill tracker before assuming a date has moved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a dispensary in Knightdale, NC?

Yes. Haven Herb at 8521 Buffaloe Rd is in our directory, open Wednesday through Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday, with free local delivery on orders over $75. Elevate NC THCA at 4021 Village Park Dr is also open, seven days a week. See the Knightdale dispensary page for current listings.

How many dispensaries are in Wendell, NC?

Three show up on Google Maps as of October 12, 2026: Apotheca on Wendell Boulevard, open 8am to 10pm daily; The Lifted Lounge on North Main Street; and The Hemp Source, which now keeps Wednesday to Friday hours, 11am to 5pm, and answers at (919) 862-3193.

Is there a dispensary in Zebulon, NC?

Not right now. Carolina Hemp Company at 120 E Gannon Ave still lists hours on its website, but on October 12, 2026 the store did not appear on Google Maps and its listed number, (919) 646-0009, reached a different business, so it appears to have closed and we have removed it from our directory. The closest options are in Wendell, the next town west.

Is there a dispensary in Youngsville, NC?

Yes. Herbal Solutions at 119 E Main St is open noon to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 7pm Friday and noon to 4pm Saturday, and closed Sunday and Monday. Its site lists hemp flower, oils, vape oils, concentrates, edibles and topicals. See the Youngsville dispensary page for the listing.

Do you need a medical card to buy hemp in eastern Wake County?

No. These shops sell hemp-derived products, which are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and NC Session Law 2022-32, so there is no card or prescription involved. North Carolina has no state minimum age for hemp products today, but many shops card at 21 as store policy, so bring a valid photo ID.

Which eastern Wake dispensary is open latest?

Apotheca in Wendell, open until 10pm every night. Haven Herb in Knightdale is also open until 10pm, but only on Saturdays.

The Bottom Line

Eastern Wake has real hemp retail, but it is thinner and less settled than the growth around it would suggest.
